What is your coaching/mentoring approach?
​

I have a multi-modality approach, which means that I will utilise different techniques and strategies from various methodologies to help the client or mentee explore the areas that they bring to the session, we then collaboratively work out how to achieve their aims.

What is your experience in my industry or field?
​

Respectfully, my experience in your field is less important than yours. You already have your knowledge and experience. My role is to help you to see something more, better, or differently than perhaps you have been.

How do you tailor your coaching/mentoring to individual needs?
​

Each client or mentee comes with a unique perspective. After a discovery session, both the client and I will have a better understanding.  For me, this will be needs, expectations and desired outcomes and for the client, it will be my styles of communication, interaction and empathy.

What is your availability and preferred communication style?
​

When I have a client engaged in mentoring or coaching I will make appointments with them directly to ensure their needs are met around existing commitments. All communications around transitional or developmental factors are in person either face-to-face or via Zoom. Other interactions can be agreed upon with the client, i.e. emails, phone calls or voice notes. 

I do NOT offer a crisis intervention service.

What is your coaching/mentoring philosophy?
​

I believe that every individual is capable, with appropriate support and guidance, of driving all the elements of growth that they wish to see in their lives and that the appropriate coaching/mentoring relationship will open up avenues that the client may not even have considered.

What kind of support can I expect between sessions?
​

I answer direct emails and calls around client bookings. I afford the same immediacy to all of my clients during sessions. My aim is to empower all of my clients, regardless of starting point, to manage and guide their day-to-day experiences with only a light touch between sessions.

 

How do you handle confidentiality?
​

With the exception of a risk to the life of the client or third person, or the admission of serious criminal offences everything that is shared in a session remains strictly confidential.

How do you measure progress and success in your coaching/mentoring relationships?
​

Each coaching relationship commences with an exploration of the end goals and outcomes, these will be reviewed and the client will be fully aware of their progress as they are accountable to themselves. Unless new objectives are realised the egress will be clearly signposted. There is no attempt or desire to create a sense of dependency on the coach-mentor/client relationship.

Do you have a specific coaching/mentoring specialization?
​

I am a trauma-informed and person-centred coach, however, coaching and mentoring skills are not limited to one arena and I work with people from a wide range of fields. If I feel another coach may be more suited to a client I will always signpost them appropriately. If there are any safeguarding concerns then these too will be discussed with the client and steered appropriately.

What should I prepare for my initial consultation?

​

All you need to be is yourself. You might want to take notes and I may ask you to do some work alone, so a device or pen and paper is handy.

Be honest in your answers, I may challenge you empathically in order to support your growth.

In return, you can expect unconditional positive regard, rational empathy and personal congruence.

Do you offer group consultations or workshops?

​

Yes! I can provide bespoke workshops around the core design of the DesiredState model and I also offer observation and assessment of teams and groups.
